Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

What makes Pinnacle Canine Sciences supplements different?

Accepted Answer

Pinnacle is built around thoughtful, purpose-driven supplementation—not one-size-fits-all formulas or a single headline ingredient. Our multi-pathway philosophy brings together complementary ingredients selected to support multiple aspects of canine wellness, with care behind what goes into every formula. Long-backed breeds remain an important part of our heritage and focus, alongside working dogs and the broader canine community we serve. We also believe caregivers deserve clear ingredient education and practical information to make informed decisions for their dogs.

Question 2

Are your supplements veterinarian-reviewed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our formulas are developed with veterinary input and reviewed for safety and efficacy. We publish our Science Friday articles to share the research behind every ingredient decision. We believe informed pet owners make better health decisions for their dogs.

Question 3

Can I use these supplements alongside my dog's current medications?

Accepted Answer

We always recommend consulting your veterinarian before adding any supplement to your dog's routine, especially if your dog is on prescription medications. Omega-3 fatty acids can have mild blood-thinning effects, which may be relevant if your dog is on certain medications. Your vet knows your dog's full health picture.

Question 4

My dog has already been diagnosed with IVDD. Can these supplements help?

Accepted Answer

Our supplements are designed to support long-term spine and joint health as part of a proactive wellness routine. They are not a treatment for IVDD or a substitute for veterinary care. If your dog has been diagnosed with IVDD, please work with your veterinarian on a treatment plan. Nutritional support may be part of that plan — ask your vet.

Question 5

Where can I find the current ingredient information for Mobility & Spine?

Accepted Answer

For the most current ingredient information, directions, and product details for Mobility & Spine, please review the product label and product page. We encourage caregivers to follow the labeled directions and speak with their veterinarian about questions related to their dog’s individual needs.

Question 6

Are your supplements free from artificial additives, fillers, and common allergens?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our formulas are free from artificial colors, artificial flavors, and unnecessary fillers. We use natural flavoring to make the chews palatable. Our products do not contain wheat, corn, or soy. Full ingredient lists are available on each product page.

Question 7

Are your products manufactured in the United States?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All Pinnacle Canine Sciences products are manufactured in the USA in a facility that follows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. We source high-quality ingredients and maintain rigorous quality control throughout production.

Question 8

Is turmeric/curcumin safe for dogs?

Accepted Answer

Turmeric (curcumin) is generally considered safe for dogs at appropriate doses and has been studied for its anti-inflammatory properties. Our formula uses a standardized turmeric extract at a dose appropriate for dogs. As with any supplement, consult your vet if your dog has a history of digestive issues or is on blood-thinning medications.

Question 9

How do I know how much to give my dog?

Accepted Answer

Dosing is based on your dog's body weight and is clearly printed on each product label. Most long-backed breeds fall in the small-to-medium weight range. We include a dosing guide on every product page. When starting a new supplement, we recommend beginning with the lower end of the recommended dose for the first week.

Question 10

How long before I see results?

Accepted Answer

Individual responses to nutritional supplements vary by dog, product, diet, health status, and other factors. Pinnacle supplements are intended for consistent use as part of an ongoing wellness routine. Follow the product directions, and consult your veterinarian if you have questions about your dog's individual health or nutritional needs.

Question 11

Can I give my dog more than the recommended dose?

Accepted Answer

We do not recommend exceeding the suggested dose on the label. More is not always better with supplements — some ingredients have upper safety limits. Stick to the recommended dose for your dog's weight. If you have concerns about whether the dose is appropriate for your dog's specific health situation, consult your veterinarian.

Question 12

Can I give multiple Pinnacle Canine Sciences products at the same time?

Accepted Answer

Each Pinnacle product has its own labeled directions and ingredient information. If you are considering using more than one Pinnacle product at the same time, review the ingredient panels and labeled directions for each product. Because formulas may contain overlapping ingredients, talk with your veterinarian about the combination that's appropriate for your dog, especially if your dog takes medications or has individual health considerations.

Question 13

How does the Subscribe & Save program work?

Accepted Answer

Subscribe & Save gives you 10% off the regular price on your chosen product. Choose delivery every 30 days or every 60 days. All Subscribe & Save items in a single checkout must use the same delivery schedule. If you want both 30-day and 60-day subscriptions, please place them as separate orders. Shipping is based on the recurring subscription subtotal: orders under $50 have $6.99 shipping on the initial invoice and each renewal, while orders of $50 or more ship free.

Question 14

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Accepted Answer

To cancel a Subscribe & Save subscription, please contact support@pinnaclecaninesciences.com. We currently do not offer a self-service subscription-management portal. Canceling Subscribe & Save stops future renewals, but it does not automatically cancel or refund an order that has already been processed.

Question 15

What if I need to skip a month?

Accepted Answer

We currently do not offer a self-service portal for pausing or skipping Subscribe & Save deliveries. For help with an existing subscription, please contact support@pinnaclecaninesciences.com.

Question 16

What are your shipping rates?

Accepted Answer

We currently ship within the United States only. One-time orders under $50 have $6.99 shipping, and one-time orders of $50 or more ship free. For Subscribe & Save, shipping is based on the recurring subscription subtotal: subscriptions under $50 have $6.99 shipping on the initial invoice and each renewal, while subscriptions of $50 or more ship free. Please review our Shipping & Returns Policy for current terms.

Question 17

Do you ship internationally?

Accepted Answer

We currently ship throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and other supported U.S. destinations available at checkout. We’re working to expand to select international markets, with a focus on Latin America, including Colombia and Mexico. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified as new countries become available.

Question 18

What is your return policy?

Accepted Answer

Unopened and sealed products may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Opened or used supplements are not returnable except when there is a product-quality issue. Customers are responsible for return-shipping costs unless the item was damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped. Once an approved return is received or otherwise reviewed as appropriate, approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Please review our Shipping & Returns Policy for complete terms.

Question 19

My order arrived damaged. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

If an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact support@pinnaclecaninesciences.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the item so we can review the issue. Please see our Shipping & Returns Policy for complete terms.

Question 20

What is IVDD and why are Dachshunds at higher risk?

Accepted Answer

IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) is a condition where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae of the spine degenerate or herniate, putting pressure on the spinal cord. Dachshunds and other chondrodystrophic breeds are at significantly higher risk because of their long spines and short legs — a body structure that places greater stress on spinal discs throughout their lives. Read more in our Science Friday series.

Question 21

Can nutrition really make a difference for spine health?

Accepted Answer

Yes. While genetics and body structure are the primary risk factors for IVDD, nutrition plays a meaningful supporting role. Key nutrients like Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties. Glucosamine and chondroitin support cartilage and disc integrity. Antioxidants help protect against oxidative stress in joint tissues. Nutrition is one of the few modifiable factors in long-term spine health.

Question 22

What other steps can I take to protect my long-backed dog's spine?

Accepted Answer

Beyond nutrition, the most impactful steps are: maintaining a healthy weight (excess weight significantly increases spinal stress), using ramps or stairs instead of letting your dog jump on and off furniture, keeping your dog active with regular low-impact exercise, and scheduling regular veterinary checkups.
